I'm 99.9% sure that its time for a re-gas so its just a quick question as to whether anyone else has noticed this problem before.

I can get nice ice cold air out of both centre dash vents most of the time, however once the outside temperature reaches around 19 degrees or higher the drivers side centre vent and side vent seem to blow slightly warmer than the passenger ones do.

This was even more noticeable when in France and the temperature was up around 28 degrees it seemed that the climate control could not cope at all and the other thing i've noticed is that there is no longer a pool of water under the car (normally its like a river when its stood for a short time).

The A/C is still working as you can hear the compressor kicking in, so fingers crossed that some new gas will make all the difference.

I happened to be killing 10 minutes in Halfords earlier today, and saw a DIY re-gas kit. Not really any cheaper than getting the local garage to do it (and probably a lot less chance of success!) but interesting none-the-less...

Sounds like a regas to me bud.

most likely needs a regas but i would take it to a Honda dealer and let them do it.

If you want it done properly take it to Aircon specialist. They will remove the gas, weigh it, vacuum test your system and then refill with the correct weight of gas for your car. If the vacuum test reveals a leak they'll put a dye in and ask you to come back after a few days to find the source of it. If the test doesn't reveal a leak you will be set up for another 4 or 5 years.

A regass is not recommended if you want to look after your car and have it done properly.

Yeah what I meant by re-gass is to get it all sucked out etc with the proper computerised machine like what Honda will do.

Yep, definitely worth spending the extra and have it done properly. If your Honda dealer knows what they are doing then yes, why not take it there. If not a good aircon specialist can do it, no reason why not.

I just rang my dealer who said its on offer at 49.99 at the moment to which I said let me think about it and they said book it in this week we'll do it for 40 so its going in on Saturday. Whilst its there I'll pester parts as I think that the washer that's on my tensioner pulley is wrong as it looks different to that on lings and may explain why its made a brand new pulley go noisy like the one I just replaced.

£40 is a good price, proof it can good to hesitate! Silly not to at that.

Nice one Dave, which dealer was this then?

Barnsley Honda mate it was in this morning all sorted now, just need some really hot weather to make sure its ok.

Let us know if the problem is solved after the regas! I am also experiencing this problem with driver side blows warm air and passenger side cold (but not icy) air.

I will do mate won't be in the car till the weekend so hope it warms up to try it out.

Hi. I think I need to re-gas my air con so I called my local honda dealer and asked them if they will only top up gas or do they remove it first and then will put new one and I've been told that they only re-gas it which means they will not remove old gas just add new and that's it.After reading few threads you guys were saying that to do it properly it should be first removed and then re-gas it. is it right?

Pretty much...what dealer us it?

it's Swansway in Stockport.Anyone has been using or heard about CoolCar ? they have branches across UK.
