Hi all
Being proactive and planning ahead, my timing belt will need doing in about a year's time, maybe longer. Anyone had theirs done recently, if so how much, ballpark. I've seen the kits on eBay, Continental for £70 to £80. Saw a 'how-to' on YouTube and its not for the faint- hearted ie me...

Here in the Netherlands I can get the timing belt changed, including water pump, and the rolls for a fixed price of €596. Most repair centers charge about €45-50 per hour of labor.

I will certainly not try to change it myself for lacking the knowledge and the tools to do this. :)

I don't know where you're based, but Pheonix Close Honda Specialist is based op north, and the chap who owns it is a member on here.

He's got a Facebook page. Definatly worth a message, very good prices and extremely good service :)

I can answer this.

Last year I inquired about this. My local garage, who are usually very reasonable, ie about £35/labor - I supply the parts. They quoted over £300 pounds, for cam belt and tensioner kit. Gosh I thought.

So for a laugh, I thought i would ask the Honda dealer in Chesterfield - expecting me to fall about laughing.

Their quote was £210 bottom line, including all parts, valve clearances set, and VAT.

Thanks flyer, will try my local Honda dealer... If no luck, probably worth me travelling to Chesterfield at that price!

I had mine done today. Both belts (cambelt kit), tensioners, aux belts, water pump and type 2 coolant change.

£400 all in.
