Timing chain and VSA?

Hi guys,

I have a Honda Accord Type s (K24a3 i think).

Recently the engine management light appeared and is showing up as cam position and crank sensors. There is also a rattle in the morning. Im guessing it is a timing chain issue as the chain could have stretched and its showing up as the sensors plus the rattle first thingin the morning without oil pressure.

Anyone had this issue? and is it the chain? If it is the chain anyone know a good place apart from Honda to pick up one.

Also would the above issue cause a VSA light to appear

you can surely check the engine bay for 2.4 dohc? then its a k24.

Sounds pretty serious, would not drive it tbh, could do more damage. A guy in the mod section opened up his engine to fix the timing ,think i read a few nights back so it seems to be doable if you know what you are at.

can you get a mechanic to call to yours with a diag tool and all that.

Common on the diesel, unusual on the petrol, has it missed some oil changes?

You can find aftermarket chains on ebay, but do you really want to risk it?
