Hi,

I need to get a litre of engine oil for toping up my 04 2.0 v-tec Accord Auto (Its down a 1/4 on the stick)

But what grade should I get? (I prefer Castrol)

Thanks,
Alex

Use the same that's already in there.

If it's just a top-up and it's going to be changed soon, stick some 10-40 semi synthetic in it.
It'll mix with anything, and the wrong grade of oil's always better than not enough oil.

It's a Honda, it'll run on a mix of mud rocks and marmalade and still be fine.

In your owners manual it'll tell you what the preferred grade is, but will give a range of permissible grades.

Go with Something like a 5w/30 you're a typical driver, but something like a 10w/40 fully synth if you thrash it as it'll stand up to heat better.

My 2.4 is ready for an oil change soon, would a 0w/40 or 5w/40 be the best of both worlds?
