Tourer '05 water (rain) leak

Hi all,
today I spotted water leak near left tailgate open/close mechanism. It happens only when it rains for a few days (now it's been raining for two days after almost two months of draught). I removed some panels around the wet spot and found this (see photo). The car was painted once as it was damaged by hail. Any ideas where to start looking for the hole?

I know it's for 2003 Accord but hey, It's a good starting point. I'll take a look at that roof channel tomorrow.

Hi I have not had any water in after using lots of goo in the roof rails channel! I did it once and it still had water coming in, then did it again and used lots and it has been fine. Wish I had found that service sheet. Hope you get it fixed. Cheers

I love the guy's moustache and glasses in the diagram for how to remove your roof channel runners :lol: . Good luck with this and let us know how it goes.

/\ LOL yeah , the bulletin is "© American Honda Inc", I guess Tom Selleck was too busy at the time

I like that idea of soapy water on top and compressed air underneath to find a leak ...must be many a car forum where that is needed

Well, the "Tom Selleck soapy water method" didn't find any holes. I used compressor, added some soapy water into the roof channel and... no bubbles. Maybe I'll just put some sealant into the channel as Paul did and wait for the next rainy season...

Shame that method doesn't work, maybe run water down the channel (***istant with watering can) and see from inside where it's coming in, otherwise it's trial and error (as in the other thread you found). Reminds me of a car I had about 25 years ago that leaked somewhere along the top of the windscreen, it took many attempts with goo to stop it.
