The rear light cluster in my tourer (in the door itself) has a spider crack which is growing quite fast. Had a quick look this morning at what's required to change it, I can see one bolt exposed but will I have to remove the panel to access the rest?

Inner Taillight:

1. Open the tailgate.

2. Remove the tailgate trim panel.

3. Disconnect the connectors (A) from the taillight (B).

AB

4. Remove the four mounting nuts, then pull out the inner taillight.

TAILLIGHT: 5 W
BACK-UP LIGHT: 21 W
REAR FOG LIGHT: 21 W

Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Tailgate Area
NOTE:

•Put on gloves to protect your hands.

•When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

•Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.

1. Remove the trim as shown.

2. Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

•Replace any damaged clips.

•If the threads on a pull pocket handle screw are worn out, use an oversized self-tapping ET screw, P/N 90137-S1A-E01, made specifically for this application.

•If equipped, make sure the power tailgate close switch connector is plugged in properly, and check the power tailgate operation.

Will try to put the drawing up for you.

Looks like a nightmare re clips, good luck!!

Great post thanks! I have a tool for the clips but there's plenty of them and I'd have to do it all looking up. Looks like a ****** of job. I'll psych myself up for this one!
