Hi guys

Looking for some pointers on installing the tow bar electrics on my 2009 Accord 2.2 iDtec.

I have acquired a full tow bar kit from eBay, a Witter kit, came with all the metalwork, bolts etc. and a 12N socket with a ***an relay box. I would much prefer to attach the electrics properly using the supplied socket Honda provide in the boot. I also need to install a 12s socket for the extras.

I'm more than capable of doing this sort of thing, but would like some pointers or advice from someone who may have tackled this job themselves.

Cheers

Hi mate I had a towbar specialist do mine.
What I will say is they took 2 feeds from the battery with inline fuses.

Be careful messing with the elecs, make sure you disconnect the battery, one guy on here 'fried' his fusebox connecting a reversing camera. Cost him a lot to get it fixed.

On Lings Honda Parts it shows various kits for the trailer elecs, but they are expensive:

As Brett said, maybe ask an auto electrician/towbar fitter. Or ask your local Honda dealer.

Also forgot to say it's a neater job if you go for the 13 single pin electrics.
This does everything in 1 socket like towing a caravan

Wow they are expensive on Lings!

I'm seriously thinking the 13 pin option is best, only one socket and you can get splitters for old style hook ups.

I'm more than capable of doing this myself....been an electrical engineer for the last 30 years ;)

I would like to attach to the car elecs using the correct socket in the boot rather that chopping into cables
