TPS% at idle

is around 10% ok?

I asked this question before, as my OBD reader was showing about 9.7% at idle, and the answer I got was that it is perfectly normal, I just thought it seemed a little high to maintain tickover but apparently it's absolutely fine.

obd scanner reads on my accord 9.8% @ idle too.
i think TPS readings are not continuos but "stepped"
in fact also full throttle does not show 100% but around 91%

remember that we don't have "drive by wire" throttle, this is why a more precise position is not needed by ecu

I found out that there is ~9.5-9.8 on autos with manual gearbox. and 10.5-10.7 on autos with automatic gearbox :)

So what is TPS reading? Presumably the throttle is completely closed at idle with the IACV allowing air in. Does it take the calculation and estimate from MAP values?
