Hi all
I have a 2004 Accord 2.2 CDTi Exclusive
It doesn't have the sat nav upgrade.
One thing I can't find is a trip computer. It does have the trip A and trip B thingy on the dash but no computer that shows mpg etc.
I ***ume it just doesn't have one, which surprises me for a car that has everything else, but just thought I'd ask in case it is there and I'm just being silly!

Do you have an "i" button on the lower left right side of your steering wheel? Try pressing that.

Sorry Andy, you're right, it's the Executive.
No i button on steering wheel Richard, which I ***ume therefore means there is no trip computer :-(

No computer in the pre face-lift cars.
Just two trips and the ODO.
Always best to rely on good old maths if you want an accurate mpg value anyway.

I agree, yes, perhaps I was just looking for the lazy way even if it isn't likely to be as accurate. Thank you

yehbutt I prefer the "alternative facts" of the trip computer.

(not that I can make any real-time sense of MPG with my metric brain)

Its a spreadsheet i made will calculate mpg for you i am using on another forum to collate results to compare fuel and economy

The manual way is total mileage then cost of fill up divide by cost per litre in pence x100
Finally total mileage / litres *4.54 = miles per gallon MPG

Wow! That's quite the spreadsheet.

I've logged every tank for the past 26/27k on my diesel, but that was so I could find out the effects on economy of changes in things like tyre size and pressure, servicing, and before and after mapping.

Ultimately with a diesel it all relates to the the supplier of fuel used, driving style and whether it's summer or winter diesel.

Nothing else made a perceptible difference.

There is not a cat in hell's chance of me filling in a spreadsheet and/or calculating tyre pressures/sizes/servicing etc. to arrive at a MPG figure.
Thanks for your input guys (genuinely) but I think I'd lose the will to live if I had to do that every week. I think I'll stick with the age old method of guessing and doing a bit of rough maths once every now and then in my head as I drive along. :)

All depends on what you use it for. I used to a 52 miles each way for work, so i felt working out the most effective way of doing it was important.

Once I realised the difference between me driving the car like I was driving miss Daisy, or totally wailing on it, wasn't that great, I was much happier about driving however I pleased.

For what it's worth. There's no mpg gain to be using V-power etc, and I've found my car (also an 04 cdt-i wagon) seems to be happiest and return the best mpg on shell regular and Tesco regular.
The two occasions it's been to a BP, it returned 5mpg less than it ever has on anything else. For some reason, my car hates the stuff.

I use an android app called my cars , its simple, just put the amount used, distance covered and fuel cost into the phone and it will calculate the exact fuel usage and graph it if needed.
You can also add info such as driving style, road etc to account for any differences.

Thanks goodluckmonkey any chance you could pm me results I am creating a database on this forum and honda karma forum as well
