Turning the sidelights on when unlocking the car

I want to know if its possible to wire up the side lights, so when the car is unlocked via the fob, like the interior light the the side lights come on for a bit then go off. I know this is a long shot but has anyone done anything like this or is this even possible.

any ideas will appreciated

I suspect for a novice it might be a bit complicated to wire up if it can be done.

I was just looking at installing puddle lights under my mirrors that will need spliced to the interior light wire, so a bit similar you could say.

Is there any reason why you want side lights specifically?

in that case i probably have to pass on it, Not that familiar with electronics
No particular reason, I guess i have seen it on newer cars and it looks pretty nice.

Could be done but would be pointless lol all that effort.. Ill pass lol

It can be done by taking a feed from the interior light through a timed relay and a diode.

Good idea.
