Type V cd changer

I have a 52 reg Type V with Bose single cd/radio which I took out to plug in an Alpine S630 changer with 9 pin round plugs but there is no output for it on back of head unit. There is an empty oblong socket but I dont know what its for. This changer is the recommended one for the Bose system ( 98 to 01 I believe) but did Honda change things for this model or any info on how to fit any changer to the Bose system on my car. I took out the boot trim hoping there would be a lead already wired in from the factory but disappointingly there isn't.

Any one got a 52 reg Type V with cd changer. I'm wondering if the Bose radio/cassette has the round 9 pin input on the back of the head unit. I've looked at the S reg Executive photos which I had a few years ago and that had Bose radio/cassette in it. Did Honda change it when they went to single slot cd. Main dealer was no help.

For future reference if your interested I have completely upgraded a SE executive Bose systems with a modern Head units as the customer wanted to play mp3’s from a USB, SD source ect, but still he wanted to keep the Bose sub working, fiddly job getting wires match up to the new ISO and another ISO for Audi Bose system adaptor but I got it working with no issues

Do you think that you may be able to tell me how to connect my bose system up to my Kenwood head unit? I have tried to run the sub by just simply pairing it up with the rear door speakers, which does work but as soon as I turn it up to about 18 they all start to crackle.

I have the 99 ES model with bose. 4 door speakers and centre parcel shelf sub with an Amp and Equiliser under the passenger seat.

You would be correct in thinking that, the Bose radio/cassette is the only unit with round connector to upgrade it to the CD changer, as I've fitted genuine Honda changers and Alpine compatible one in many pre 2001 Accords.

For future reference if your interested I have completely upgraded a SE executive Bose systems with a modern Head units as the customer wanted to play mp3’s from a USB, SD source ect, but still he wanted to keep the Bose sub working, fiddly job getting wires match up to the new ISO and another ISO for Audi Bose system adaptor but I got it working with no issues… In regards to my own Gorg’ Type-V I’m happy to leave the Bose CD unit till I purchase a touch screen, sat nav, dvd, + reversing camera etc etc combo bringing her right up to date B) .

Stu, Thanks for that. Do yu know if the other inputs are same as mine, 52 reg. At least I know where to look and if anyone on here has a bose radio/cassette with round 9 pin connector with code they dont want, get in touch please.

Do you not need an adaptor between the Bose cassette unit and Alpine changer for it to work?
My brothers car is setup with the Alpine S630 changer but he has a adaptor between the two.
Something to do with the pinout being different i think.
Mine has a Honda changer in there but i want to be able to play mp3.

If it works without an adaptor then in theory you should be able to connect an m-bus to ai-net adaptor and connect an Alpine mp3 changer.

Or connect one of these to the back of the headunit to connect an mp3 player etc.

Can you provide some more info on how you did this as its something i am considering?
What ISO connectors/adaptors you used etc.
