Hi guys,

Just found this website today while investigating the above and thought it would be a good idea to sign up. Havent said hello or anything yet, still reading through a lot of the interesting stuff online here. So far Im well impressed, 1 with the detail on the website and 2 with the amount of active members. Looks good!

So, hopefully a quick question. Hopefully!

I took out honda happiness extended warranty on my 57 plate accord diesel when I bought it in Feb this year. Last week I got the dreaded "VSA Warning" light on my dash. Ive booked my car in with the garage but they cannot commit to it being covered by the warranty until they "diagnose" the fault.

So, will the diagnostic be covered, will the VSA fault be covered and will the labour costs be covered by my extended warranty does anyone know? In essence, should I be expected to pay for any of this?

Thanks

Callum

Welcome along Callum,

Sorry to hear that you have the VSA light, however the dealership is correct in being cautious about whether the fault is covered or not as it will ultimately depend on what the fault is. I would imagine It's better not to raise false hope, as it is harder to go back to someone and say, well actually it isn't covered because ....... than to ring someone up who is just thinking the worse to then say, yes it is covered and if you bring you car in by ........, we can have it fixed in two days and it won't cost you a penny.

As Brett has asked, depending on the mileage and of course the fault, the VSA module has it's own extended warranty. If you mileage is greater that 62K, as you have taken out a separate extended warranty, then in theory if it is the dreaded 66-1 fault then you should be covered (dependent on the small print) as it is not a general wear and tear item.

I would imagine, that labour costs would be included but you could do with reading the small print and it should clarify things.

You should be fine. The Honda Happiness warranty is excellent.
