Ok, new to the web site so bear with me please. My 06 pre facelift 2.2cdti is showing ABS, VSA and orange triangle light on dash.

My wife took my car to a garage for diagnostics as I could not take it myself.

I spoke with the mechanic over the phone. He said the passenger rear wheel was not giving back a reading. Now I have been reading the forum and have seen that the ABS speed sensor is very troublesome, but whenever I said 'ABS speed sensor' to the mechanic he didn't give me a straight answer. He just reiterated that no reading was coming from the rear passenger wheel.

To me this sounds like the speed sensor. Is there a chance this is the VSA Modulator given the scenario?

I have easily located speed sensors on e bay for around £90. Is thi a fair price?

I have seen other members saying they have only been able to get theirs from USA. Am I looking for the wrong thing?

A lot of questions here I know. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance

Hello pal. You really need to get it read by a Honda diagnostic tool. That will tell you exactly what is wrong down to the sensor.

ABS and Wheel Speed sensor are the same thing mate. If he can't get a reading, then it's possibly a broken sensor or damaged wiring somewhere. A knackered modulator would give you the 66-1 error.

Many thanks for the replies.

I've learnt a vaulable lesson... when your car is having a diagnostics done, be there to be sure you know what faults are showing up.

Anyway, I think I'm going to have to take it to Honda for a diagnostics anyway as I have been getting a smell of fumes in the car and I'm thinking its likely the cracked manifold everyone is talking about. I spoke with honda customer service. They told me I will have to get it diagnosed by HONDA before they can do anything for me.

The trouble is that my car is 7years and 3 months old ( just 3 months outside the warranty cover), with less than the 125k mileage. I asked them if they would give me a replacement as a 'good will gesture'. They said they would need to first diagnose and then depending on various factors determine if they would do the repair for me.

What do you think my chances are?

I think your chances are fairly good, especially if it's been serviced at Honda regularly.

Hi Tyler,

Honda will not stand over the fault if it is over the warranty at all. As for my original problem, ABS speed sensor sorted it right out.
