Im now at a cross road of fixing my 7th gen which i think is now dosplaying issues of dmf or clutch or hydraulics.Something isnt right therebut its still going.now on 152k with original parts still.excluding manifold and a caliper. What sort of mileage can I expect to keep this going smooth until. Its still lovely to drive.I dnt want to part with it but is spending a grand realistic when this weekend Honda only offered £950 for it! Was thinking of HP on an 8th gen dtec es gt.What would be your opinion.Would I sell this to get into unknown new expensive issues or do I keep this and fingers crossed for 200k?

> A difficult decision!
> I've an '06' plate diesel tourer with 165,000 miles on the clock and in my case the bodywork has a good few scrapes and dings (poor parking on my behalf)
> The clutch slips if I floor it in 5th/6th (but been like this for the last 30,000 miles), the A/Cond condenser leaks (re-gassing required about every 12 months), the windscreen could do with replacing and there are some suspension bushes that require replacing, and so on
> In my case if I had a servicing bill of around a £1,000 facing me, I would most likely look to put that money to something else
> Having said that, I was speaking to a taxi driver/owner of a '56' plate diesel tourer who had nearly 400,000 miles on the clock and apart from new diesel injectors, he'd only faced normal wear/tear servicing costs (which I would think included a clutch and maybe DMF?)
> If my clutch and DMF went, I'd definitely ditch the car given all of the other issues I have

Thank you for replying.Im not really sure whats going on with my clutch now.it doesnt slip in high gears and its stopped slipping since its little meltdown the other week where i was left with no clutch. However turned the car back on and it was fine.Maybe its a hydraulic issue.Ive probably done 2000 miles nearly now since the issue of no clutch.I just love how this car drives and nothing for the budget i have (5k max) comes near what I want. That budget is from a loan so I dnt want to really use that option.Maybe I am expecting too much but im usually a vw lady but since the accord ive been a convert.tough decision.money no issue I would get the 8th gen. Its because money isnt great im trying to gauge whether this car is worth the investment.I dont want them to rip out the flywheel if it isnt that.its literally performed fine since.

Sounds like you really like the car. Spend the grand on it, and take a chance.
200 to 250K miles shouldn't be a problem for this car.
