What next??

Evening all!!

So my 2014 honda accord has had quite the life.
bought it in mid 2018 at 40k and now have it up to around 150k
got crashed into around 2022 and was written off by the insurer but was able to buy it back and drive on as it was the lowest kind and cosmetic damage but looks a bit rough.
Anyway clutch has been slipping for around a year now so I need to start thinking about what next.
Any thoughts/opinions on what would offer the same reliability and trustworthiness of my accord?

I have one with a slipping clutch (has been for years), the next three months are likely to be when it finally has to be worked on though I have a cunning plan....

If yours is only clutch slip and nothing else (DMF/bearing) the part is less than £150, but would/could you replace it if you had to ?

Ah man I'm useless at cars.. I wouldn't know where to begin..mechanic said for the job would be about 1200. So as you can imagine it's a tough call.
Will you be tackling it yourself?.

I don't know anyone local (I have been given costs between £1.1k and £1.9k, so based on the forum I will have to try it on my own.

Farhad's thread suggests the clutch is all that is needed though he found his steed had issues with the self adjusting stuff (fixed after a profesional drop of the vitals),

I may open up the bell housing to check what is going on anyway before purchase, there as been no vibrations in 7 years so whatever I do the DMF stays where it is.

I'm not looking at thrashing the car after the work, in first gear at least one driveshaft has complained ever since I bought her so even the externals are good for the moderate driving she deserves at 180K.
