Im away to get oil and filter done and was wandering about what oil to use
Iv always thought fully synthetic was the way to go but my mechanic friends are saying with the 106k miles and its a non turbo to definetly go part synthetic....
Is there really any difference here?
Local honda are charging 49.99 for the job which is 3quid dearer than if i did it myself buying fully synthetic 10w40

I would use the same as you always use but have a look below.

As Brett has said its worth considering whats been used previously, but I would still lean towards full synthetic. Its alot more stable than mineral and won't break down, more important is regular oil changes maintains a healthy engine.

usually 10w40 is part synthetic and much cheaper than you are thinking of paying , full synthetic 10w40 is racing oil you don't need in your car, so either buy cheapre oil and do it yourself or just go to honda

As always it depends on how you drive your car and how often you plan to change the oil. If you hammer it alot then you will want a quality synthetic with good shear strength qualities. Also if you tend to do high mileage and don't change the oil often, again a quality synthetic would be better.

However if you just plod about then its probably less of a concern as long as the new oil matches Honda spec required.

Will Castrol SLX 0w-30 work in my 2.0l Accord? I'm asking because I have a few litres left after using it in my old car, a Civic Type-R EP3.
