Which cylinder is which?

My car decided to be sick yesterday morning, was fine when I parked it up on Saturday. Missing like a ******, not revving properly etc etc engine light flashing. Got it on the scanner which diagnosed a misfire (very handy!) but it did tell me it was in cylinder 3. I've ordered a new coil pack and hoping it's that and bought some new spark plugs aswell. Just wondering which is cylinder 3? If anyone knows I'd be appreciative. I could guess but there's a 50% chance I'd be wrong.

Mostly you count from the timingbelt.

Correct - cylinder 1 is closet to the timing chain. So if you looking into the engine bay facing the car, the timing chain is on your right and the drive belt is on your left. As such, cylinder 1 is the rightmost and cylinder 4 is the left most.

Thanks. All sorted. New ignition coil arrived today, swapped out and cars working as it should.
