I noticed yesterday on the way home from work a noise like metal rubbing on metal. It becomes noticeable after 10mph or so and stops or quiets down when braking. I thought that it's my brake pads but upon inspection my pads aren't worn. I changed all 4 discs and pads before 6.000 miles. Could it be something else? I can't visit the garage no sooner than coming Tuesday, and i need it as well for work. Would it be safe to drive like this? Cheers

Occasionally you can pick up a bit of road debris between the disc and splash guard.

Reversing up the road usually shifts it, or it drops out after a while.

Best thing's to jack up the noisy corner, spin the wheel and have a good look and listen.

I've tried driving in reverse but didn't hear anything. It's snowing all day long since yesterday orherwise i'd jack the car up.
