Hi
my 7th gen tourer 2004 has 16inch alloys.

I've seen a set of 17inch alloys for sale from 2010 accord.

will they fit my car?
Both 8th gen and 7th gen have same PCD 5 x 114.3. Also I believe the offset is the same 55.

However 8th gen tyres are 225 / 50 / R17.
7th gen seem to be 225 / 45 / R17.

Is it ok that rolling radius will be larger?
Any reason why they shouldn't fit / safe to use?

Thanks

Watch your insurance. If you had to claim they might not payout as the car hasn't got he right size tyres on, you know how devious they are these days.

This site is quite good:

http://www.wheelcalc.com/

Also look at Civic wheels, I think they use 225/45/R17

The wheels with fit but the tyres are incorrect and will alter your speedo

Thanks.

I looked at the website http://www.wheelcalc.com/ and it shows a difference of 3.87% of my circumference. It recommends not changing more than 5%.

In addition, I guess the car will sit about 2.5cm higher from ground.

Would you guys recommend I change or look for right size wheels?

In all honesty mate I used to work for an insurance company years ago, and as Richsprint has mentioned, unless you told them about the change to the wheels and tyres to even have a chance at being covered you would have no chance of getting a payout in a claim! I would be amazed if that didn't up your premium and there is a slight chance that the company you are with would refuse to insure the car because of the change.

In your shoes I'd keep looking, but the other option is phoning your insurance co/broker and asking before spending the money?

Get the wheels and just buy the correct tyres job done.
7th gen are 225/45/17

Yes thanks.

I think I'll try to buy the alloys and change the tyres (as suggested by Brett).

That way, I will not have to tell my insurance company as the 7th gen also comes in 17inch alloys with 225/45/R17 tyres.

If the tyres are good you might be able to sell them on as well

Iv got the 8th gen wheels on my saloon, (not sure how to add a pic to this post) they fit fine, but I do get some tramlining issues, I'm going to get front matching pilot sport 3 soon to see if that would help
