I have recently had to have a new windscreen fitted after getting a stone through it on the motorway.

Mr Autoglass has duly fitted a new screen, but all the clips that hold on the side trim that runs up the windscreen and along the roof, are broken and have come away from the actual bodywork. It looks like the car has had another windscreen previously - and they murdered the job of fitting it. There are loads of clips missing entirely.

I have new clips from Honda, but Mr Autoglass is unsure how to fit them. They have what looks like a sticky pad, but is not actually sticky.
He thinks that some sort of special chemical needs to be applied to this pad to make it go sticky - but is unsure.

I guess a different adhesice could be used - but I'd prefer to have them applied correctly.

Does anyone have any thoughts or knowledge of this?

Hi Richard, I had my windscreen replaced on Sunday and Mr Autoglass replaced the clips for me. He told me these always break so they get 4 for each side with the new windscreen. He didn't need to use any adhesive to fit them. They are a bit tricky I think but he managed to get them in. He didn't do perfect job though because trim at couple of places is slightly raised but its minimal so I'm hoping it won't cause any issues. However he told me if there was any problem I could ask them to come back. So I'm thinking if that happens then I'll get the clips from Honda and would call them back.
Good luck.
