diameter of air intake tube

Hey guys anyone know the internal diameter of air intake tube at the airbox end. Hope this makes sense, just didnt have a chance to look this weekend and wondered if anyone knew.

***uming we're talking a 7th gen petrol, in the end, the inside diameter of the rubber pipe from the inlet manifold that connects to the solid plastic air box is very concertina'd with ridges and lips to lock onto the plastic airbox fitment without the need for hose clamps and what not. So in all it's a bit of an odd one. Although I ended up with an 83mm piece of pipe to hose clamp on to it tight. I think, ***uming you're using hose clamps and get them done up proper tight, you should be alright with 83mm. It's a big pipe .

I thought it had to be about 80mm it is a big pipe.
Reason why is i was looking to add a RAMAIR cone filter directly into the intake pipe then craft some sort of cold air feed and a heat shield. just wanted to make sure i ordered the right size cone.

But basically, you wanna get a short piece of tubing, I'd recommend this and then buy a cone filter with the right size fitment, then you clamp that to your inlet pipe and you filter onto the alloy tube. Just don't do what I did and buy things that don't fit :lol: .

It doesn't really give any noticeable gains on power, but the throttle response is better, it purrs with normal driving and then roars with high rev action. It's worth doing. I actually plan to move mine into the space left behind after I removed the resonator. Make it a proper cold air intake.

The diameter of the intake end is 80mm so should fit well. will post up some pics guys while fitting and of the finished result.
Will try post a small vid of how it sounds to and uild quality of the cone filter. I have read good reviews on it so fingers crossed.
