I am moving from my Saab that had loads of toys to the Accord that hasn't. In most Saabs retro fitting cruise control was as easy as fitting the relevant stalk, I know the cruise control on the Accords are controlled via the sterring wheel, does anyone know how easy, if at all possible it is to retro fit it?

it is possible... but not easy you will need to get a full wiring loom and im ***uming the ECU will need to be changed

My friend did it on his Seat Lean Cupra R he just bought a kit of ebay, and installed it, he said it can only work if the car has cruise as an option from factory. Most Accords have it, so its likely its a question of some DIY wirings and connections to ECU

On the VAG cars its easy as it is on a number of GM cars as they leave the wiring loom pre existing and sometimes you just need to enable it in the ECU.

Not sure on the Honda at all.. I would say lift off the right side plastic cover on the steering wheel face to see if there is a unconnected plug behind it. That would indicate that there is a pre existing wiring loom there maybe..

Yes but mega deep pockets , plus new throttle body intake manifold , DBW unit , ECU ,multiple sensors and other few dozen bits.

not worth the tassel TBH, a brick works as a good CC too.:)

Fair enough, worth an ask. GM were proper bean counters, they left everything in place and then cut the ends off it wasn't needed for example, alot of the cars had heated seats, you just needed to fit switches and the end of a plug that they cut off when it wasn't originally ordered. Same with the cruise, everything was there apart from the switches.

I've seen the cruise control on a Honda Prelude, it's a really crude looking thing, is it similar on the Accord?

I think the cruise is pretty good on the Accord.

I'm quite lucky in that I get to keep quite a lot of hire cars for my job for up to a week, usually X5's, C, E class Mercs, the odd Sabb etc and can honestly say the cruise on my car works smoother than on some of the expensive hire cars.

It hold's it's speed perfectly, never stuggles on hills on the whole I'm really impressed with the system.

Only things I miss are the digital speed readout and the ability to reduce/increase your quickly speed in 5mph chunks.
