Folks, I'm looking for some advice on an issue I've had as a result of a new turbo. My original post is below;

As a recap, my turbo blew in December and ever since acceleration has been very poor, with the turbo only kicking in at around 2.5k revs. I recently took my car to my mechanic to look at this again, but still he cannot fin anything wrong with the turbo. He said he's played around with the boost, checked all connections and it all looks good. He's only parting comment was to look at getting the re-mapped which could solve the problem. I'm not against doing this and would like the extra horses and mpg but don't want to do this if there's something else at fault. Plus there is no guarantee this will solve the issue. Thoughts?
Once the turbo kicks in it like being in a rocket and before you know it I'm doing a million miles per hour and ready for mars. Before that there is hardly any pull and you really have to think about the drive and being in the right gear.
I'm no mechanic but it shouldn't be like that. The Fuel filter was replaced Jan 2012 with an original part. Could there be some sort of boost leak?
Should I have the car put on some diagnostics in case there is anything wrong? F6HAD, you mentioned getting the car over to you to check?
I just don't know where to go next and I'm starting to feel quite deflated as its not the driving experience I expected. And now that i'm having to look at other avenues to get the car sorted, is there any garages that anyone would recommend for me to have a look? I'm in Leeds but not originally from the area, so could do with some recommendations.
I look forward to some expert replies and and hopefully a solution to this problem.
