Head Gasket Selection

Channel Hopper - Early days but it does seem as if you could well be right - The smoke on revving has died down considerably - must have cleaned it all through as you suggested.

Richard B - I don't have fault coded showing but now evrything has settled down quite nicely I recon No1 injector is getting just a tad noisy - I am probably being paranoid but I might have it overhauled anyway

Thanks for your input everybody.

Since you have cleaned out much of the deposits upstream, the freed off turbo vanes will be working at a higher temperature and the decades old carbon in the front of the exhaust is being burnt out of the nooks and crannies.

It is still doing it though and I do wonder if there is a prob with the EGR valve. Could that be so?
When I get time I will take it apart to check operation.
Many moons ago, I read on here about blocking it off - wish I had
