Hi Folks; I have just purchased a 2000 Accord 2.0 ES and it comes with a BOSE headunit. The battery was run down and replaced by the dealer I purchased the car from and they said that the ID card for the radio was in the owner's handbook pack. I have the little grey card with the 5 digit code and when I input the number the stereo beeps and goes back to the CODE screen. Any ideas or do I have to take this to the main dealer?

Welcome to TA mate is this an after market stereo or stock.Buy the way you will get a better response if you introduce yourself in newbies rather than coming in straight with questions.

i would say you've got the wrong code if its not accepting it

sometimes if you go to the dealer and they remove the radio they can take numbers of the stereo and get the code that way

it was nice of the dealers to just tell you the codes in the hand book and not sort it for you

Yep agree with Paul.I would take it back and let them sort it.I will tell you a story of my friend that owns a Renault.Ok he took his car in for a service and when he got the car back the radio didn't work and needed the code.
So my friend went straight back and complained but Renault said sorry there is nothing we can do we don't have the code. But if you go down the road you can get it decoded for £100  .
You can imagine what my mate said.Anyway after my friend gave them back the keys and said im going for lunch when i get back i expect the radio to work. When he returned the radio was fine make your own minds up

I know. I've been trying it for ages and it will not take. The main dealer is just around the corner from where I live so I'll take it around to them tomorrow to get the code. Thanks for the info guys.

cost me a tenner in the past to get a oem stereo de-coded.

Got the code today from the main dealer for 20 quid. CD is working fine but no sound from the radio. Keeps on searching. Any ideas folks would be appreciated!

If its searching all the time it could be a problem with your antenna. This seems a bit fishy to me the code was lost now the radio don't work.
Where did you buy the car from.

I bought it from a Trader near my local town. The fella has kept fobbing me off with excuses so it looks like I'll have to get it fixed myself.
