Hi All

I need some advise. My clutch seems to be slipping as it works only when one releases the pedal (very top). My question is, does one have to buy the flywheel too together with the clutch kit or shall I just buy the clutch kit?

How will I know whether the flywheel needs to be changed as well?

Kind Regards

Matthew

Have a look round the site using the google search button. The topic has been covered extensively so there's lots of information about it.

Matthew, consider the CG performance paddle clutch kit from CG Motorsport. Guaranteed never to slip ;)

Before you go changing the clutch have you checked the cruise control switch to make sure it is not that making it slip. It is a known issue.

I'd really like to see that guarantee. :)

A guarantee is only as good as the evidence to back it up, and I've been following these clutches with great interest on both the Civic and Accord forums. Even with the strongest remaps, I'm yet to see a broken CG clutch ;)

How long have people been using these for now and what sort of mileage?

I'm not knocking what you say. I just feel with a clutch, even a motorsport clutch it will fail in the wrong hands.

We're talking of members with very strong 200bhp and 350lbft+ remaps and over 12 months and 40k miles so far. When you compare that to members that have broken stock clutches in less than 1k miles, I think its fair to say it's a robust solution.

Yes of course, even the strongest clutch will break in the wrong hands but in those cases any warranty is void anyway as there is always an exclusion for abuse/neglect.

I have ordered my clutch kit from them, will it be ok with my flywheel? Its not noisy or anything and only vibrates when the clutch slips. Since it started to slip i've parked the car up, not used it for a month or so now waiting for the paddle clutch

It would be a guessing game Ahmed - you need to see it and check it for freeplay when the clutch is out.
