I'm thinking of sticking a set of 18's on the bus but they have 225/40/18 rubber on 'em. Is this the right size and will it look like it's on stilts with the bigger rims, narrower rubber on standard suspension?

Ta for your opinions. ;)

everyone will say yes and they're be right but I did it anyway.

I recently put 18s on my o4 with 235 40 on the front and 245 40 on the rear they came off a supra ha looks minted doesnt look high at all

It will look like that.

If it does your head in you spend about £250 on getting it dropped and it will look like this.

Thanks Neil. Looks lovely on the BBS rims.

TBH, I can't be ar*ed with it. One of the reasons I bought the 'boring' Honda was to move away from modding cars and just find something tidy and functional I can punt about in. £400-£500 for the rims then £250 to lower it then wincing every time I go over a speed bump or park near a kerb........not for me I think!

I guess the money is probably better spent getting it serviced!

It's only a matter of time before you give in lols

Could be! It's a shame really as I had to replace a tyre last week which cost me a stoopid £130! :( My usual thinking is invest in a new tidy set of used rims with tyres rather than a brand new tyre but I needed one for a long drive to Wales in the wet at new year.

I'd change the wheels tbh, it's just the additional cost of lowering it I can't stomach.....and looking at the pics it WILL look daft unless it's lowered.

Mate, mine rides pretty much the same *** it did before the drop. The only draw back is you have to watch the front end against kerbs when you park.

Fair enough! You've not seen the speedbump at my local Halfords. The downpipe into the cat clonked on it in my old Vectra.

Thats what I did got a brand new set of 18" civic wheels for under 250 when my tyres needing changing. Didn't lower it though, and it does ride high and it feels it aswell. It is best to lower it.

The biggest degradation in ride comes from going to 17's from 16's.. and then I found going to 19's from 18's. The difference in ride between 17's on 45 profiles and 18's on 40 profiles isn't that much (perhaps that's why Honda offered 18's as a dealer upgrade on them).

Yeh, it's not the ride that bothers me. If I was confident the 18's would look nice 'out of the box' so to speak I'd go for 'em. Just not sure I can be bothered with then having to fork out to lower it too.

I had 215/35/19's on my old Vectra lowered -40mm so I've done the lowering thing before. It's not one of the mods you can sell on either so I'd never recoup any of that expense.

go for a 235 mate a 225 looks lost in the arch, your ride is harder and i made that mistake once lol
