    Part-exchanged today at 155,000 miles

After nearly four years ownership, today I said goodbye to the Accord, part exchanging it against a Toyota Prius T-Spirit for my wife. We're swapping cars in our household; my commuting duties will be now be with my wife's 10 year-old, 67k A3 Sportback that we've had since new, and with the...

Low Brake Fluid warning on constantly

I agree Fahad - do you know where the sensor is in the car? Doesn't appear to be near the fluid reservoir, although I could be wrong.

Low Brake Fluid warning on constantly

Nice link, thanks. It's definitely the brake fluid symbol in the "level measurement" box that I see.

Low Brake Fluid warning on constantly

Mine's a facelift, so you get the small dot matrix display which shows the low brake fluid warning. Both the VSA light and the handbrake light stay on too. Anyone know where the level sensor is? Doesn't seem to be near the fluid reservoir, although I could be wrong.

Low Brake Fluid warning on constantly

I've made multiple searches on TA but no luck with this! My Accord diesel is repeatedly displaying the yellow "Low Brake Fluid" warning in the instrument cluster. To clear up the blindingly obvious issue at hand, the brake fluid level, as checked by the bulkhead in the engine bay, is absolutely...

    Diagnosing Aircon Problems

What a useful thread! No cold air in my Accord over the last couple of months, and when I went for a re-gas, I was told the compressor wasn't working. Followed the diagnosis steps at the start of this thread and it looks like I have a faulty relay as the click from the compressor was easily...

    Clutch Slip Record

Just seen this thread, and my 150k Accord is exactly the same as described in the first post. Clutch has slipped a couple of times when accelerating fairly hard in fifth or sixth gear, and first noticed it just over 10k ago. But nothing since. On the plus side, I drive it even more gently and...

    My Service History

Reached 150k this week with my service done last weekend at 149,630 miles. Also rotated my tyres, with my newer Goodyears on the front. The combination of the oil change and the low friction tyres has improved MPG by around 5% which is a nice bonus. Noticed that the drop links on all four...

How long are you keeping the car for?

Registered: 2006/56 (now at 144k, bought at 94k) Owned for: 3 years exactly! Probably another 2-3 years or when it expires. I've owned 10 cars in 20 years of driving, and other than my wife's A3 Sportback, which we've had almost 10 years from new, my Accord is the car I've owned the longest...

    My Service History

So I completed another service at 140,209 miles at the weekend. I think someone said earlier in the thread that these engines love an oil change, and certainly the car felt great today. Just oil and filter this time, and I'm so well versed at doing this I had the car emptying its bowels within...

    My Service History

Hi Sam, Sorry for the slow reply! :oS I just pour it out into an old measuring jug, one litre at a time. This minimises spillage. I've read here that others have fitted a tap to the base which would be better obviously, but the measuring jug is good for me.

    My Service History

Within the air filter box there was a few leaves and other debris that's worth looking for and removing!

    My Service History

Completed a major service over the weekend at 130k miles. Fresh oil + filter, air filter and pollen filter replaced, with the fuel filter to be booked in shortly (don't fancy this job...) All went well, apart from the oil drain bolt refusing to come off for a while early on in the job. I was so...

    Clutch Replacement

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll hold on for a while and will probably take up the independent offer; I just can't justify spending the thick end of a grand on a car that's probably worth only double that.

    Clutch Replacement

It's only slipped when I've been accelerating fairly quickly and changed up. I drive like a daisy the rest of the time - currently have an indicated 59.4mpg on the computer - but occasionally you have to keep up with traffic or slot into a space. I've found TA forum posts here from last year...
