I had a rear caliper binding on my BMW 330 touring, the garage said it was ever so slight, but the wheel was still warm after normal driving and REALLY warm after a blast on the motorway! Perhaps it's not a bind?

So no one has a scanner that doesn't use a phone?

Just a quickie, Anyone got a cheap eBay fault code reader? Are they any good? Is there a particular one to buy for the 7th Gen? Does it have a generic socket? I'm not looking for dealer level diagnostics here just want to be able to read and wipe codes!

So... after spending roughly 2 hours researching which HID kit to buy, I had determined I needed a slim ballast H1 5000k 35w job. I then hopped over to eBay and keenly made my purchase, excited about my new purchase I checked eBay to see when they are arriving and I've gone and bought the wrong...

Yeah, I did think that about it sensing something there. Haven't tried a reset I will get on that later! Yes it closes perfectly! and opens perfectly but just has a little spaz before closing itself again! Strange! I will try the reset and report back!

It's 2005, like I said in the original post it's had the motor replaced by honda last month! I have an invoice and a credit card reciept! But I've only just got it so I don't really know what the garage had to say about it! I will probably pop to honda and see what they say!

If I open it by hand it it just like a normal boot, no resistance, opens and shuts sweet as a nut. Under its own steam it will only open half way bleeps a bit, then shuts it's self. Also if it is fully open (manually) the boot will not shut itself, both from the key or the button on the boot...

Read several threads on power boots totally failing, having to clamber through the boot, but my problem is different! Picked up an 05 estate on Saturday, with a reciept in the folder for a power boot motor replacement last month for £730. When you press the button off the key the boot opens...
