    Part Four on my Accord

Hello again Guys, long time updating on my old Accord. Forgive me as I've been busy. Actually, I've nothing really much say - no news is good news - bar the fact the car is going well overall. Now on 117k. I had the clutch kit changed at last, I bought the kit back in Nov 2012 as I knew it was...

    MPG, is this good?

I don't know how you are only getting 21/22mpg, something doesn't seem right, unless it's just stop start traffic at rush hour all the time with air con on full blast or else you are driving it like you stole it! I'd recheck the mpg by the brim to brim method first, if you haven't done that. As...

    Temperature Gauge intermittant

    Thanks Frenchy.

Surely, if the headlamp has to be adjusted slightly lower than standard, there's something wrong...

    Temperature Gauge intermittant

Guys, Noticed my temp gauge wasn't working, so gave it a gently tap and all was good but it seems I need to do this all the time for it to work. Anybody have this problem or even ideas what's causing the problem? Cheers in advance.

So, that's my mind made up 100% now, no HID kit for the 6th Gen. It's pity because as most know the h/lights are cr4p, even the woman's little Mazda puts the Accords lights to shame. I better get another lot of Osram, Philips etc superduper H7's so, even if they only last 3 months!

Forget about my question as I think this has given me the answer. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/Hid/conversions/conversions.html

I'm getting a bit confused. Is there no real need to have the correct headlamps if you use Xenons in the projector lamps?

    Totally transformed by xenons!

I've looked in these and you are totally correct. They cause light scatter and really p1ss people off. Also too from what I understand 4300K are the ones to have if used with the correct head lamps.

    Fuel efficiency

Marmalade, for your info 38mpg is possible, driving real handy, with junk in the car, a full tank and only 30psi in the tyres.

    MPG, is this good?

Right, I had a go at this fuel economy lark again, brim to brim. I did 264 miles all on A roads bar about 44 miles on the motorway. My average speed was between 50-65mph, trying to stay at 60. Result 38.1 mpg. Anyway, I'm a little chuffed with myself as it's probably the best mpg I've got in...

    Fuel efficiency

Yep agree with the above. The very best I got was 37.5mpg driving around 60-65mph. The only items I can think of, bar generally servicing to improve economy are: Add 5-8psi to the tyre pressures. Don't use the air con. Change gear early. Take any unnecessary weight out of the car...

    "v" type

Yeah, the 2.3 would have to have more torque alright. I suspect the extra 300cc came from a longer stoke rather than a larger bore? If so, it's probably not as sweet as the 1.8 or 2.0lt but might be ideal for with an auto box and pulling the odd caravan (save us all) etc.

    "v" type

How much lower is the rev limit on a 2.3 compared to a 2.0lt?

    "v" type

Here's one, might be worth a punt on especially if you want a few bells & whistles. I'd certainly have a look at it if I was in the market. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Accord-Type-V-Low-mileage-/271366568476?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f2eb53a1c
