I have the same problem and noticed that my clutch fluid level was a bit low. It's topped up now, but the problem is still there. I will get my mechanic to look at it next week when it is due for MOT.

It is a common problem with these switches, the bulb that illuminates them goes very quickly. I have changed mine so many times that I finally gave up... if you want them working, put LEDs, there was a how-to here somewhere.

Hallelujah, you have seen the light. The OEM satnav is rubbish, get a tomtom unit and have a happy drive.

If you have used TomTom, you'll be very very very disappointed by the OEM satnav.... to a point that you'll regret ever ordering it.

Probably a better option will be to sell your current car and get a facelift. This way you'll get the 6 speed gearbox too.

Exactly, that's why the compressor does not engage. After some time the new gas in the system will eventually soak the HP switch and unstuck it.

The auto setting will adjust the fan speed and A/C on/off according to the temperature in the car, but if you set it to Lo, it will continuously keep the A/C on and the fan to max speed. Better put it to 18 - 20 degrees so it will try to switch on/off the A/C and unstuck the hi-pressure switch.

Just switch the air con to auto and drive it for a week, it will cure the problem. I had the same issue and my mechanic suspected the high pressure switch being stuck up from the lack of gas in the system, the new gas has lubricating action but it needs some time to loosen the sensor.
