I need to buy a replacement turbo - any advice?

Would it pass the MOT without a cat?

No more typeaccord HH discount for service parts?

I think they're good prices especially as they include delivery.

Accelerator not responding and no revs - rare occurrence

Sounds a bit like worn accelerator pedal position sensor. But that should throw a code.

    DPF options

There's a nice 8th Gen 2.4 Tourer on Autotrader just now. Why not pay the deposit over the phone and then go and pick it up. They don't come up very often. Life's too short for all this nonsense.

Cleaning your turbo without removing it?

    Italian tuneup.

    My New Lexus GS250

That really looks the part - Lexus have clearly improved the GS250 a lot since the original version I once sat in.

Anyone here tried "mechanic in a bottle"

There's no cheap way round this fella. You'll have to put your hand in your pocket to resolve your DPF issue. Or if you've had enough maybe it's time to knock it on the head and buy a petrol or a hybrid.

    Awful German car...

Thanks for the updates. Surprising the list is so long. Roll on electric cars with only 6 moving parts.

    your thoughts please

They're pricey for a reason. Better car, simple as.

    Spark Plug Advise

There are some fake ones around. I would buy mine from opieoils.co.uk or a honda dealer https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Honda-Accord-2-4-2009-2015-Spark-Plug-x4/253323385250?epid=1616006259&hash=item3afb4019a2:g:JxcAAOSw0GNbH9FE:rk:93:pf:0 Or if you want an even better deal and are on PayPal...

    Rear brake replacement issue...urgent

As long as you've removed both caliper bolts then you haven't missed anything. If the caliper piston has seized which they frequently do on the Tourer then you need a replacement - reconditioned ones are £70-odd. If it's so seized the piston won't retract at all when you lever it as Graham has...

    Spark Plug Advise

If you're still on the original plugs then they need changing. You want NGK IZFR6K11

CV boot after ball joint failure

As long as you still have all 3 revolving bearings you can just replace the boot. Remove inner tripod, put boot on, put everything back. If you do it yourself you'll need lock ring pliers to remove the ring keeping the tripod on, boot clamp pliers - there are different ones for different clamps...

    New Battery - what type?

Try Autosessive on ebay. Yuasa's website was wrong for mine - it took an 053 not an 014.

    Front section exhaust replacement.

Easy to remove the top bolts connecting the flexi to the manifold but the bolts at the other end of the flexi connecting it to the cat might be badly corroded and need an angle grinder to get off.

    Awful German car...

Each to their own but for me life's too short for that sort of hassle and expense when it's easily avoided by buying Japanese.

    Tourer exhaust

Some ****lers have them - it's called a 'weep hole'.

Anyone done a part time mechanics course?

Yep I did the NVQ Level 1 - one evening a week for a year. Definitely a good place to start and as the course went on the teacher would demonstrate more advanced stuff than was on the syllabus. If you can do just servicing and brakes you save yourself a fortune from that alone. Then you can push...

    PSF advice please

It needs topping up asap but the level shouldn’t have dropped so the system is leaking from somewhere. Maybe from a corroded pipe or where a pipe connects to the steering rack.
