Took it apart and think found the problem. Was rusty right at the top of the cylinder above the seal and causing the piston to jam. Cleaned it all up so the current piston now slides cleanly and then ordered a new piston kit. Fingers crossed !

Want opinion on here before I throw any more money at my god forsaken car !!!!!! Had a brake judder for a while which I put down to warped front disks, no other issues. Therefore went ahead and replaced the front disks and pads with no problem and seals seemed fine on the pistons and pushed...

Just to follow up took it out tonight with the new disks and pads and vibration is still there but comes and goes. Can also feel a bit of brake binding and when I got to my destination the nearside front was hot and smelling. The brake piston was free to move to I'm guessing it's flexible...

New power steering hose from pump to rack on 2.2 diesel. Very fiddly and messy job but got there in the end. Also new front disks and pads to relieve a horrendous warped disk vibration !

The saloon and tourer have different rear callipers as they have different handbrake setups.

Maybe not on your age of car but the clutch pedal bracket can crack which might be worth checking

The fuel may well have gone off so it may need flushing through or at least topping up with lots of fresh. Do no harm to drain the oil and refill it with fresh. If it's petrol then take the plugs out and crank it over until the oil light goes off before you start it so you know you have...

Many people have successfully made their own from copper pipe so I would say the eBay one is well worth the risk

I always take the carrier off when changing pads and give it a good clean. Quick and easy job but always worth it

If you remove that extra tensioner then a PK1425 belt should work

Have you done the mod to remove the extra tensioner? If so then I have the belt size you need somewhere.

Honda have been chasing me for years regarding the air bag recall and never got around to arranging it with a dealer but just had another letter today saying that an AA technician can now come out to me and do it at my home! Will give them a ring tomorrow and try to arrange it. :)

I can't fnd a recomendation for gearbox oil change all the way up to 200,000 miles but changing it will certainly not do any harm and can do wonders in terms of the shift feel.

No it's very disconcerting when you have applied the handbrake, taken foot off the brake and the car moves a couple of inches !!! :p

My Tourer also does exactly the same when applying the handbrake. It's just something to do with the setup and I don't think it's a problem.
