No boost below 2,500rpm, no warning lights or fault codes

Well it's running kind of OK now, which is good news. The bad news is that its "old" problem of conking out when you try to pull away is back. Just to recap - it had a habit of refusing to rev when pulling away from a junction - normally happened about a couple of minutes after a start from...

No boost below 2,500rpm, no warning lights or fault codes

Have been driving the car for the last few days and it has got much better - not perfect, but much, much better. It now has some pull from about 1,500rpm and is relatively driveable compared to how it was before. Don't know whether the improvement is due to the turbo vanes freeing-up...

Haven't tried yet - though I have read through the links, thanks.

No boost below 2,500rpm, no warning lights or fault codes

Well, the new EVR valve was on within 30 minutes of it coming through the door .... and it made no difference at all :( . No real surprise, but it would have been nice if it had worked! Am now waiting a call back from the garage I've been using to discuss what to do next.

No boost below 2,500rpm, no warning lights or fault codes

In that case the test probably didn't demonstrate anything useful as all it would have done is held the turbine blades in the wrong position - so its no surprise that things weren't better. Had it been a waste gate then I would have expected to see some failry significant boost pressures (hence...

No boost below 2,500rpm, no warning lights or fault codes

By way of an expirement I tried bypassing the EVR valve and attaching the turbo actuator line direct to the vacuum system. The actuator arm moved to full deflection, it didin't make a lot of difference to how the car drove (though I didn't push too hard as I didin't know what the effect would...

I've ordered the valve - I'll let you know if it makes any difference

No boost below 2,500rpm, no warning lights or fault codes

.... just to answer some of the other questions - Fahad ran the full honda diags on it (on two separate occasions - first time found an IMRC faulty which i fixed) before the EGR-off tune went on it. I've got a code reader so I have been looking out for anything on that. The garage it has been...

No boost below 2,500rpm, no warning lights or fault codes

OK, well this morning I disconnected and blanked off the vacuum connection to the EVR valve (item 5 on this picture http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php?block_01=17SED01&block_02=E__3200&block_03=608 ). Unfortunately mine is a pre-facelift model so it doesn't have a...

No boost below 2,500rpm, no warning lights or fault codes

Thanks Jon - interesting link. It sounds like it might be possible to swap the IMRC solenoid with the turbo control solenoid to see if it is working - I'll take a look under the bonnet tomorrow and see if that is the case! Noriced another possible symptom on the drive home this evening -...

No boost below 2,500rpm, no warning lights or fault codes

Hi Guys I'm now well over a year in to trying to fix the faults on my 2005 i-CTDi tourer. I know there are similar threads on this subject but nothing close enough to convince me to spend yet more money on going down a particular route. The problem started out as an occasional power loss...

[Thanks for the input guys - it sounds like I will have to take it to an injection specialist.

Power loss/hesitation AND now starting problems

Hi Guys I have been struggling with these symptoms on my car for over a year now. I've replaced the IMRC solenoid, replaced the fuel filter, have had Fahad's "EGR off" tune, and now things are just getting worse - car is almost undrivable when cold / damp. When Gahad did the tune he also ran...

    i-CTDi loss of power

Hi all An update for you. After reading this thread http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/10477-no-boost/ I wonderd whether my problem might be the same. On the basis that there was little to lose I gave the waste-gate actuator a wiggle, sprayed some WD40 on the arm at the bottom then smeared a...

    i-CTDi loss of power

Hi Fahad If it is a sticking EGR valve would your "EGR off" remap sort that out? Thanks Steve

    i-CTDi loss of power

Our 55-reg Accord Tourer i-CTDI has a rather odd fault. Background: I use to drive it but now it's my wife's car. She complained that it didn't seem to have as much oomph as it used to, but it was hard for me to tell as I don't drive it much these days. Then once or twice it suffered a power...

Headlight bulbs blowing - 55 plate iCTDI

Hi Guys Thanks for all the incredibly rapid responses! The HIDs have been in for a couple of years and gone through MOTs, but the MOT rules have changed this year, hence my concern. No evidence of moisture, I have been careful not to touch the bulbs (easier said than done, as anyone who has...

Headlight bulbs blowing - 55 plate iCTDI

Hi Guys I have a 55-plate i-CTDi tourer. A while ago it started eating headlight (dipped beam) bulbs - I was having to replace one every few days. I tried everything - cheap bulbs, "heavy duty" bulbs, Osram Night Breakers, they all blew. As the headlights weren't that great anyway I fitted...
