Be aware that if your cooling system isn't pressurising the water boils at 100C, which is not the maximum on the temperature gauge. So you might think the temperature is "a bit high" but in reality you have screaming hot motor and turbo trying to offload heat to a maxed out heat exchange...

There was likely some corrosion on your brake piston that, when you pushed the piston back in to fit the new pads, is now interfering with smoothly sliding past the seal. You need to have a look at that. Pull the piston halves apart and inspect behind the dust deal. Some related info, and...

Pull the 2 calliper halves apart and check the guide pins for wear. They shouldn't have flat areas or corrosion. Also make sure they are sliding in brake grease and protected by intact seals.
