    Sat nav disc update

They might be okay, I think it's down to the quality of the actual disk more than the copy itself.

    Sat nav disc update

Sorry can't help with the contact but did you Google about them before ordering? I only ask because I thought they were DVD-Rom killers?

    why no 2.4s?

I keep an eye out for estates (still not sure they are big enough for me) and manual's are like rocking horse poop, even most of the 2.0l come with auto boxes.

    Honda ATF

Mate's a mechanic who is now mobile so he came and did it yesterday along with a small service for £50. I got engine oil, filter and ATF from Holdcroft for £81. The job is simple but I've had a chest infection for two months so don't really feel like crawling under a car. The hardest thing...

    Honda ATF

No I didn't but I'm planning on changing it again this time next year when it's done a couple of thousand more miles (yes I use it that little!) and I'll change the filter then.

    Honda ATF

Had a small service today and included the ATF (Honda's own). The car is now 10 years old, done 80k and in fairness looks or drives nothing like that age. The gear change was getting a slight jerkiness but nothing I noticed to be particularly bad and still felt better than most autos I've...

Sat Nav - Waiting for Signal

Well after much playing last night, no joy. Tried this morning, no joy. Just gone out to disconnect the battery for a bit and decided to give it another go, I swore, did various hitting of the three button combo and just as I was going to switch off it cleared itself. Utter madness.

Sat Nav - Waiting for Signal

Took the battery off last night to give it a good charge. Put it back on this afternoon and all I get on the sat nav screen is a message saying it's looking for the gps signal and could take up to 10 mins. I've waited and nothing happens, tried it a few times and same message. Has anyone else...

    why no 2.4s?

They do crop up from time to time but they seem to move on pretty quick.

    MOT fail

Can't be bothered with it any more, put it down to a lesson learnt and the garage that I've used for years is no longer trustworthy.

    MOT fail

It was on the certificate as a fail, it has a code of 3.5.1g which when checked is less than 1.5mm at any point is a fail. Either way, mine wasn't that so they were wrong to put it down. Just been to picked the car up, completely different, last garage was all down and "well we've pushed it...

    MOT fail

Yes I did, I have them here and they are too low. However, they measure (using calibrated verniers) just over 2mm on one pad and 3mm on the other which considering I was told it was metal on metal on the phone and one of the fails on the MOT was the pads being under 1.5mm is odd.

    MOT fail

I don't know if I can be bothered but the odd thing is when they mentioned the rolling road yesterday I had a look in the garage and it must be hidden in a cupboard because I couldn't see one then I noticed the garage on the MOT certificate is not the garage I took it too, it's a garage round...

    MOT fail

Well, what a carry on. Took it back, got a phone call within 30 minutes, failed, same thing they said. Phones my mate, "no chance" he claims but came over to double check and with the wheel off we had a look and it was as free as a bird, gave the brakes some punishment and it was spinning away...

    MOT fail

I did mention it to my mate and he said they looked fine but of course there could be problems inside. I'll just keep an eye on it, any signs of it sticking again and will probably replace them. Back for the MOT tomorrow.

    MOT fail

Just booked it in for the retest, don't think the bloke who answered put two and two together, I'm sure they will when it goes back! If they ask me I'll tell them straight coz according to them the caliper was totally seized, wouldn't budge, total BS. Now, it gets better, I quote "your pads is...

    MOT fail

Mate has just been, he had a right old chuckle. He was done before I could even get a camera out to take some snaps. One of the sliders was sticking, the piston was free, he stripped and cleaned the sliders and popped in the pads on both sides, gave it a test and says all is good. Everything...

    MOT fail

Just looked at the MOT, they have NOT failed it on the disc, hmmm not what was said over the phone, or should I say 'implied'. It's failed on Offside rear brake pad less than 1.5mm thick and offside rear brake binding. They've also noted the front bushes have deteriorated but not resulting in...

    MOT fail

Picked the car up, got thrown the key and paperwork, not even a goodbye! Oh well, spent £1000's there over the years. The £300 for the caliper is really irking me, more than anything else really. Only thing is got to take it back for the re-test
