    What oil is the best choice for the Manual Transmission? I've noticed the gears can be a little crunchy and when driven hard the gearstick get warm. Usually the sign of oil well past its sell by date. Any help much appreciated. Joe

    Honda service history that came with my car states 5w30 magnatec from 2008 onwards .... eek... apparently that's what Bedford Honda put in them as standard.

    Changed the oil. Went for 10w40 Mobil super 2000 and a genuine oil filter. Much better!

    Very true. I'm having cambelt etc changed on Wednesday so I don't want the garage to put naff fluid in it.

    I've used a Mann oil filter and the and book recommends 5w30. I rang my local Honda dealer and they said they just put castrol 5w30 fully in it at service.

    Well I've soaked them in wd40 to help the situation and I'll continue to soak them for the next couple of evenings. I'll try to take them off as normal but if not.... angle grinder.... swearing....and a large hammer!
