    Brake Bleeding - Mityvac

Yep that describes how my pedal feels. I used the Visibleed again using the 2 man method, I did the pedal and got someone else to check what was coming out. One of the nipples on the new caliper seems to allow more fluid to seep out than the other, even red grease wouldn't help. Only did the...

    Brake Bleeding - Mityvac

That's exactly what I'm planning on doing and putting red grease around the nipples, although I'm wondering if I should do all 4 corners now rather than just the rears? I think as the calipers are new and there is no gunk around the nipple threads to stop them moving, this makes it open further...

    Brake Bleeding - Mityvac

Well I bought a visibleed and used it yesterday. First I got the missus to pump the brake and just used some clear tubing but I wasn't happy with the feel and she went out. So I used the visibleed and the plastic tab that holds the tube on snapped the first time but yes you could use a cable tie...

Tourer or Saloon? I paid £260 for mine from HH last year.

    Brake Bleeding - Mityvac

My new calipers and hoses are coming today, which I need to fit asap to cure my binding rear brake (changing both sides though). I'll probably be on my own when changing them so looking at alternative ways to bleed, has anyone used one of these, how did you find it...

    Rear brake bind please help

Cheers mate, I cleaned the sliders and pads again on Saturday, plus re-greased them, again! The disc is still hot and smoking so definitely a hose/caliper issue in my case.

    Rear brake bind please help

I have ordered new calipers, slider pins and flexi hoses for my tourer, I am sick of these binding brakes so replacing the lot! The discs are genuine Honda and are around 9mm thick, I think the minimum is 7.5mm so they should be ok, there is no lip on them. I'm thinking of replacing the pads...

front seats jolt forward when stopping

I've had a look at that guide and it's not the same on the Accord, it's a different part. But we do have a Civic with the same problem so I'll try this on that seat. This is the thread I did with a photo - http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/16167-seats-sliding-when-brakingcornering-hard/...

front seats jolt forward when stopping

Yep I get this as well, it's the rubber bushes that are worn/split that causes it. If you turn it 90 degrees you will find the seat slides sideways when cornering instead. Mine has started to slide forward again now so the bushes have probably gone completely. I haven't seen that guide for the...

    2.4 mpg

My 2.4 auto does 21mpg around town and 30mpg on long motorway journeys if I stick to 65-70mph.

    Rear brake bind please help

I've had my tourer for 15 months and cleaned the rear brakes soon after getting it as they started binding. I then did it again a few months later and they have been fine until today. I got to work and smoke was pouring from the N/S wheel, the O/S was ok. Hopefully it will be ok when I leave...

    Water near my spare wheel.

Water ingress problems are a PITA, I had one on my old car which turned out to be from a very small gap in the seal where the rear screen is bonded. A bit of sealant sorted it, but only once I had sealed everywhere else first! Hope you get it sorted.

DVD drive or the disc - no satnav

That's what I do as well, I don't use it for navigation just to look at the area and use my phone instead. But now I can't even see the maps but the most annoying bit is it keeps rebooting when I'm trying to adjust the A/C settings! Looks like I'll have to live with it or buy a genuine disc.

DVD drive or the disc - no satnav

I've seen other threads about dodgy discs causing issues but so far this has been temperature related or maybe it's just a coincidence. I'll try and find that other thread with that link on.

DVD drive or the disc - no satnav

When I first got the car a year ago the sat nav would work occasionally, I used to get different error messages, it has a copy of the Honda disc not a genuine one. Once the warmer weather arrived it worked almost everytime with no issues but since it's got cold again it won't work at all now. I...

    Are my headlights too high?

Sorry mate I've confused you, I meant the sensors on the suspension. I found the rear one on the N/S and couldn't move the little arm, I ***ume this should move? Where is the front one as I couldn't see that but only had a quick look as it was getting dark? Can the sensors be removed, stripped...

    Are my headlights too high?

The right hand beam is definitely lower than the left and they do seem to slant slightly down. The car passed the MOT on Saturday as well. I've not had the chance (or weather) to look at the motors yet but I will soon. Should I be able to move them by hand?

    Fuel Consumption 2.4 petrol tourer

That is roughly 20 mpg if you get 60 miles to £20, I get similar in my auto if I just drive around town, more on a longer run. What kind of journeys do you do? Do you always get fuel from the same petrol station (Shell or supermarket)? As others have said the temperature is also dropping...

    Fuel consumption k20

My 2.4 auto does around 260 miles if I do nothing but drive to work, 10 mile round trip which is all town driving so yours don't sound that great. Maybe a service would help, has the fuel filter been changed?

    Are my headlights too high?

Thanks Brian How high or low should the beam be if shining at a wall when parked flat? I would say ATM they are pointing straight ahead. I'll do some checking over the weekend to see if anything is broken. I think when I get it sorted I'll unplug them as well, it seems to be too much aggro to...
