    Drive Shaft

Have Honda's a (known) problem with drive shafts? You would expect relatively new cars like an 8th not to require them? I am no auto specialist but I would hazard a guess that a drive shaft falls into the same boat as a transmission or such and should be warrantied for the life of the car? its...

    Awful German car...

The 460h is a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing but I dont like CVT transmissions, the shape doesnt really do it either for me (not the new ones, which look great!)

Anybody moved to Volvo, Merc or BMW from 7 Gen Accord?

They don't have any branches though and I believe many of the infinity range need dedicated repairs from an authorized dealer (might not be right on this but think its what i read) Infinity are to Nissan what Lexus are to Toyota.

Anybody moved to Volvo, Merc or BMW from 7 Gen Accord?

Lexus are better than all of these  , the level of kit and refinement on Lexus is tremendous. Build quality is superb, down to the solid clunk from the door shut. Reliability, well how hard is it to fill it up with petrol, that's about as much maintenance it needs. I don't do huge miles...

Poor Fuel Consumption on 2.4 Auto

Ive done a fair bit of driving over christmas, to the west of Ireland and back to southampton. 1180 miles or so used and about half a tank left in my car, I put in 214 litres. mpg would be about 27mpg using the formula above, give or take. some terrible roads (and drivers) in Ireland ffs...

From Manual to Automatic heater control? Is it hard?

you mean retro fitting climate control? i cant imagine that being easy or financially worthwhile, you would probably be best to get a car with it as standard.

Poor Fuel Consumption on 2.4 Auto

Fair play to Brian for offering ***istance here, first port of call has to be a full diagnostic or else you will be changing stuff left right and center. as for revs increasing when the AC is turned on, that is normal behavior. Re: CL500, certainly no status thing wrong with me, its a fine...

Poor Fuel Consumption on 2.4 Auto

Out of interest, my is250 gets about ~32mpg on long runs. TBH, The economy on this is not much different than my old CL9, I probably even get more miles on a full tank on this than the Honda if anything on long runs. The Lexus has been a fantastic car since I have had it but I am having a mid...

    2.4 Flexi pipe blowing

u can get flexi pipes cheap on ebay, get a mechanic to put one on? not a big job. The old one will need to be sawn off. Best to make sure its done gently to prevent any damage occurring to the rest of the exhaust system. But then again if any cracks develop post-cat you know the exhaust is not...

Test drove an Accord 2.2 i DTEC EX 4dr (08) - enocountered noise

a petrol one preferably, you already spent circa 3k on the previous car it seems (and whatever you spent prior to that too). Do you do big miles?

    Moving on

I would have thought an Accord would be a bit more up market than an Octavia? I was in my bosses one, I think a 13 reg. It was a 1.4 turbo and it was not much to shout about inside. Granted it is a very reliable car in its own right but not something I would get.

    Honda using 10w 40 oil?

i only ever use 5w30, I dont see why it would not do your car, its what I got in my is250 and what I used in my k24 before that.

    2.4 - Surely I must be insane!
