    Lower Torque control arm

As I had the car lifted to change the oil and front brakes, I had a look. Mine may or may not be knackered at 100K miles, but it seems to be a fairly floppy affair. Link to short video: https://youtu.be/xxxAGaBPGCg The picture on Cox's site suggests there's a big empty space in the middle so...

Looking to purchase 8th gen accord - need advise

They're pretty solid cars in my experience. Although mine's given me no issues to date, the DPF is a subject I've monitored closely throughout my TA membership. There's a lot of stuff on here about them -but bear in mind people generally only post problems on forums rather than how great it's...

    What went wrong

What did your mechanic say? Could it be a burnt / broken exhaust valve?

    Lower Torque control arm

Not so far. At that price I think I'd need a good reason to. It looks like there's some overlap in 'service parts' and 'parts that fit your vehicle'. That said the EGR pipe is a known issue and that appears in the list...

    SRS & FLAT BATTERY.

A battery at 7.5volts might be goosed, new or not :( I've just had a new battery on myself. It's not been starting quite right for a few days. I was sat at the front of the house with the ignition on (ii) but the engine stopped for about 5 minutes, and I started getting all kinds of lights...

    Wing mirror indicator lens

Fixed. How long for remains to be seen... With the lamp ***embly removed I solvent welded the cracks in the white (ABS) rear, glued all the loose shards of clear acrylic to each other and to the rear shell. There's glue all over the face of the lens, but that's ok. Once all that was dry, I...

    Wing mirror indicator lens

With a little advice from @edgeoftime I've got into it :D I'd hoped the missing bit of lens was inside the somewhere, but it's not. Making a repair might be tricky, the damage is more extensive than I feared, but I'm loathed to throw £60 quid at it for a new one. Complete mirror ***emblies...

    Wing mirror indicator lens

Some kind soul has smashed my mirror indicator lens. Thankfully that appears to be the only damage. Has anyone replaced this bit? Is it even a separate part? I need to weather proof it as-soon-as before the LEDs start corroding.

5 speed to 6 speed conversion

If you have a search around you'll find threads about the exhaust manifold cracking. I believe it was a recall item for a while. Usually identified by fumes in the cabin. The chain is / was prone to rattling (occasionally letting go :o ) at higher mileages, seemingly exacerbated by dirt held...

5 speed to 6 speed conversion

My two penneth: Unless the one you've got currently is an outstanding example, I'd be looking for a 55 / 06 replacement, with the 6 speed box already fitted. Plus you might benefit from the other facelift improvements (improved manifold and timing chain spring to mind)

    Air con problem

This isn't quite the same thing, but it might be worth a look: http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/22626-cold-heater

    Manual

It's the Honda workshop manual, so not quite as step by step as a Haynes and ***umes some skill / experience working on (Honda) cars, but very useful non-the-less. Note that as stated on the advert it will only work on a Windows machine running Internet Explorer. I've tried all sorts to get it...

Diesel 2.2 Es gt tourer body vibration

The guy who did the second 4 wheel alignment for me suggested rear shocks. I wasn't convinced, but perhaps there's something in it? I checked today, there is zero steering wheel involvement, so perhaps it's not the front at all -and it's actually the rear that's shaking and I'm feeling it in the...

Diesel 2.2 Es gt tourer body vibration

I have the same issue and I'm getting annoyed with it... Uneven tyre wear diagnosed a year ago. I couldn't see it until it was pointed out to me, but it was quite obvious / pronounced. 4 wheel alignment and new tyres appeared to resolve it. 12 months later, it's back with a vengeance. Can't...

Connects2 Bluetooth no rear speaker noise (parcelshelf speakers)

Not sure if this applies, but worth a look? I was convinced the aux jack on my 8th Gen was faulty. I tried different cables, different sources all not working. Radio, CD and USB all worked fine... After an embarrassingly long time I realised the volume was turned down  I'd not twigged...

Water leak causing boot to think it’s open?

I can't remember all the details just now, but do a search for 'sounder'. I seem to recall something to do with the battery / sounder near the back wheel arch (in the tourer) that was alarm related and wasn't uncommon for causing problems. I had spurious alarms just the once (that was an...

    Bonnet Insulating Mat

Mine has a contoured panel held with clover leaf shaped fir tree clips. Underneath there appears to be a layer of fibre / foam. I've tried to add a couple of pictures, but my picture host has recently moved to a new site and it's mostly in German (which I don't speak) I had a 7th...
