Well the old back box came off easily enough however where the old bolts are a pain to get off so I soaked them in wd40 and left it over night and will attack them with mole grips tomorrow morning.

Yeah i'll have the axle stands out and use the trolley jack to hold it in place. Might get around to doing it over the next few days if I get time.

Cheers for the advice lads. I've ordered one from a motor factors for £43 new! I'll give it a go fitting it myself. Not done one before but looks straight forward enough - famous last words!

Morning all, I noticed that my 1.8 sport had turned into some sort of chav sounding vehicle this morning. I jacked the car up and can see that the back box has snapped just before the join to the centre pipe. Is there any way I can temporarily fix it (till next month) then buy a new back...

I've learnt something today as well! Mine have never worked. I've always just ***umed my accord didn't have the right "whatever they're called" to take the condensation off the glass!

As long as you have the right spanners it shouldn't take too long. I'm a novice and it took me about two hours. I didn't find it that bad to be honest. But as the post above says, if you're not that good with the spanners, get someone else to do it for you.

Just checked the Service History now. It doesn't appear that any of these have been flushed, just topped up. Will get straight on that!

On one of the rear doors the child lock is stuck permanently on so I can only open the door from the outside. I've tried to use a flat head screw driver to try and force the switch down but obviously don't want to break the thing. Any tips on fixing it or do I need to replace the unit?

I'm just about to hit 130,000 miles on my 02 sport and I've had the timing belt changed roughly 7,000 miles ago. Is there anything else I need to keep an eye out on or anything I need to do to keep the car going as well as it is?

I got the both belts and tensioners from HH earlier this year and got a local garage to do the work. Was around £300 as far as I can remember.

I used white spirit removing my sport badge, went smoothly.

A bit of a strange question maybe but, if, when claying your car, keeping it wet is so important. Why aren't people doing it when it's raining? Surely it would make it easier? Sorry if there's a really easy reason why it's not done but I just thought it would save loads on time.

In the end I changed the bulbs and they were fine. Not sure if I bought a dodgy bulb in the first place but its fine now. I must say I was quite chuffed with the job I did on polishing the lenses, pity I didn't do before and after shots. Someone's done a write up though on here for 6th Gen lenses.

I've checked the earth for the headlight, gave the metal a rub down but it's still not at full power so to speak. Ill check with a jump lead next though.
