    1) Disconnect battery 2) Remove airbox. 3) Remove priming bulb cover. 4) Read diy guide AGAIN and decide this is out of your league and put car back together. 5) Ring a garage. 6) Take car to garage with cash etc etc. After removing priming bulb cover I still couldnt see all the connectors. I...

    Fuel filter change

Just discovered the seat is a fast release version! So I can remove it from the seat and at least I can take the bolt to a shop to make it easier to get a bolt to fit! Dave. I have a crappy Draper strap type filter wrench and a knackered table mate thing that two sides wind together, I cant see...

Changed the oil, oil filter, pollen and air filter, but left the fuel filter till last. I have read the diy on this site that sounded a little complictated. Hoping someone will say 'its easier when you start and remove stuff'. Anyone gonna say it for me, please?

    Front jacking point

Just about to change the oil. Drove backwards onto ramps as its too low at the front. If I jack 1 side at a time for the stands, the jack is in the way so I cant get the stand under. Is the bracket with 3 circles drilled out next to the flexible part of the exhaust a jacking point at the front...

    No low beams!

Problem solved. I am not the cleverest man in town, and it would appear that the locating clip that holds the bulbs in place forms part of the circuit! At least it was an unexpensive fix! Cheers for all the thoughts on this matter.

    New rear discs and pads

I did this job last week. EBC D1400 discs with ultramax pads from Camskill £52 delivered. It was an easy job. Look in the DIY section if you want to read the write up.

    No low beams!

Neither low beam worked when I got the car, I bought it from an auction so didnt know at the time. After removing both bulbs it was evident the element wasnt complete. Think it unlikely that both new bulbs are duff. Plus the element looks complete in the new ones. Cheers.

    No low beams!

Sorry, meant to say I've checked the fuses. Hoping its something easily sorted. Would a reader/diagnostic tool help diagnose the fault? I presume these tools will diagnose pretty much everything.

    No low beams!

New discs and pads came yesterday and today I picked up a caliper rewind tool. So I did the brakes. During this the post came with my new H1 bulbs for the low beams as both were not working. After the stupidly fiddly job of removing the old bulbs was completed, I fitted the new ones. I tested...

Do I have high voltage discharge tubes? Can I replace them if so?

Hi. Reading the manual says 'some types' have the above bulbs.I have both headlight low beam bulbs not working on a 56 plate diesel facelift. It says that high voltage can remain in the circuit with lights off and keys out, so dont change them. It obviously recommends taking it to a dealer...

Wind back tool. Explain the obvious for me please.

Hi Chris. I got a quote at £66 also with a 2 year guarantee from local dealer. Bought a Bosch Silver S5007 from Cost co with 4 year guarantee for £72. Good price I believe. Not needing one would have been better! Cheers. PS. Just posting about headlight bulb replacements, help if you wish!

Wind back tool. Explain the obvious for me please.

Hi Dan. Its a smoker. I read a thread and Pepster noted the numbers needed. Just re-read the post, and its for an older model and it could be a petrol car. So it looks like I was asking for the wrong one. Do you know what I need please? Cheers
