Shock Absorber (front) with bracket for levelling sensor HID/Xenon headlights

If it was mine, I would ,1 cut off the bracket and weld it to the new strut, but as you don't have the facility, take both struts to a machining shop and ask them to weld the old bracket to the new strut making sure to replicate the exact position.

    MAIN BEAM

They are h7 Richard and, bearing in mind the age of the car, they may have been deemed efficient 15 years ago, to be fair the Audis that I used to drive were no better, same bulb set up. I don't use my main beam much at all only on country roads where a longer light may be beneficial when...

    MAIN BEAM

Yes, at the moment I have Osram nightbreakers in, no better than standard. It must be that the main beams are not anything other than a broad reflector type lens with no concentrated beam, it just gets lost in space!!!

    MAIN BEAM

Hello, the xenon dip beam on my tourer is decent, I know I can't do much with the pathetic main beam, and was wondering if anyone has successfully added supplementary spots for main beam support?

    INJECTOR BLOWOUT.

It was the top part of the bolt that sheared Fahad, the thicker part that sits in the head was intact.

One of many to appreciate the talents of Fahad, lovely bloke. :)

    INJECTOR BLOWOUT.

I don't know if this is the correct section, but here goes. My 100% reliable mk 8 tourer surprised me last week coming home from Scotland. Just coming off the M6 onto the M61 a loud ticking noise then "BANG", clouds of blue smoke, so pulled over. It was, to me, an injector problem and the RAC...

    front brake upgrade

Thanks for all the information chaps. I took my car to a quiet stretch of road and tried some realistic breaking situations including emergency stops. Conclusion? I'll stick with what I have, they will do the job, and I'll have to remember how old I am when driving on those twisty tempting...

    front brake upgrade

Hello , I'm on the point of buying type R font callipers for my tourer. On a recent driving holiday I came to the conclusion that the Accord brakes are not the best stoppers at anything over leisurely driving pace. Has anyone that has done this upgrade any advice as to whether or not it is worth...

    cmbs

It may help, Upon further diagnostic examination it seems the rear left wheel sensor is responsible for all the lights on the dash cmbs-vsa-abs steering angle and some I don't even recognise, so, if it happens to you, speed sensors may be responsible.

    gearbox whine

For some time I have been aware of a whine coming from my gearbox when cruising, mainly 40mph upwards, mainly in the higher gears when for example on motorways. My feeling is that it will be diff bearings. Has anyone the same experience, and if so can perhaps advise me on action to take. Gearbox...

Thanks BJ, the seal I fitted is excellent, but should the need arise, I will use that dealer to obtain any parts that may need changing.

Trying to eliminate all leaks, it was apparent that my seal was flat as a witches *** and heaven knows what price a Honda replacement would be. Answer ? a van tailgate seal off Amazon,£44, job done.

    WATER LEAK

Thanks for the reply Brett. The covers are difficult. On the front part, put a trim tool between roof and cover and bend down 'till plastic cover springs out, then a little furthur along do the same, you will see how the tabs fit. There is one tab on the top joining it to the middle rail, repeat...

    WATER LEAK

How disappointing, after removing and sealing the roof rail tracks on my estate, I find that under the carpet is wet again, though not as bad. When I did the job I lifted the rear carpets and dried out the wet, then proceeded to play the hosepipe on the car starting at the bottom of the door and...

    smelly Accord

over the past couple of months my tourer has developed what I can only describe as a damp smell. All the carpets are dry, boot floor is dry, cabin filter is new. I've tried all the sprays etc, now I do carry a large amount of fishing tackle 2 or 3 times a week, but it's only in for half hour...
