    2.2 iDTEC (150) tuning potential

You could go down the slimming route which would improve handling at the same time as helping stright line stuff. There was a thread on this a few years back.

STP cleaner results in poor MPG on Accord mk8 2l ivtec automatic

Did you pour it into the fuel tank and leave it overnight ?

Good 2nd hand Source of Honda Accord 7th Gen parts? Breakers Yards?

Somebody (not a million miles from here) has posted a video previously which shows the filling of the perished rubber voids with flexiseal. Apparently it works a treat. Window-weld is an option but not as good

Have you checked options in other countries other than the two mentioned ?

Finally Bitten the Bullet - Replacement Throttle Position Sensor inbound

I have given the clutch an easy life since I have owned her, so not the latter.

Finally Bitten the Bullet - Replacement Throttle Position Sensor inbound

And the autopsy , the interior tracks are worn with one particular balding spot where the ECU determines something has gone wrong. All in all about 40 minutes work.

Finally Bitten the Bullet - Replacement Throttle Position Sensor inbound

All done, easier than expected. The original bolts are best loosened with a small set of molegrips as drilling out would be a pain. The tourer feels smoother and cruise control operation is back, no limp mode during a sixty mile trip on Thursday, or since.

    Starting Problems

Apart from a dead cell in the battery, you can trace the fault back to a dodgy connection somewhere.

Finally Bitten the Bullet - Replacement Throttle Position Sensor inbound

The Servisol 10 electrical spray no longer provides more than a few days respite so a cheap TPS is on its way. I will take pictures of the fitting and the old one's condition once in place.

    2.2 i-CTDi oil

Can you explain the 'sooty' engine claim ? From what I was supplied by the local Honda dealer a few years back the i-ctdi was one of the best emission powerplants of the 2000s, easily meeting Euro4 , and if maintained with modern fluids, 715/2007, (or Euro 5).

    Rear o/s wheel arch repair/replacement

The fuel filter is not that difficult to replace, though you may end up with scraped knuckles. The radiator drain - original item - is a butterfly screw, easily undone by hand and easy to get to without climbing under the car.

Rusted Fuel Tank Accord CDTI CN1

Do you live near the coast (or were the older owners) ? It may be damage from road debris, I've seen it on another car where they ran over part of an exhaust system from another vehicle, puncturing the front. Or if in a rural area, fuel theft by drilling a hole.

    Thoughts on this accord?

    No V5C transfer then.

Serpentine Belt is too long (my 2.4 has electronic power steering with a smaller top pulley wheel)

Whilst you say the car is unmodified. has it had a different generator fitted ? I found my diesel replacement came with a smaller pulley and so the serpentine is very close (exceedingly) to the return run up top. I kept the old alternator in case I find marks on the outside but that is the...

    Rear brake again

It's more to do with fluid in the caliper that has been subjected to high temperatures. All contaminants will char and settle in the chamber. Since you have replaced the pads then the capacity reduces considerably but the same amount of debris remains, bleeding will still show clean. Quickly...

    Rear brake again

I've mentioned before. Get one of these, take the caliper off the ***embly, remove pads and (with the brake reservoir cap off) , squeeze as hard as you can until the piston is fully retracted. All the debris in the pipes should now be in minute pieces and most will be in the reservoir which can...
