    URGENT DOUBT

When it happened was there any unusual noises or anything ? Have you heard anything else from your mechanic ? Maybe worth him clearing the codes and taking it for a run again, now you know the EGR is clear, then noting which code appears first, or indeed whether both codes re-appear. Do you...

Help a 7th Gen Diesel Buyer!

Nicely put Trev, Couldn't agree more. It all boils down to personal choice and driving style IMO. There are very few cars that can match the reliability of a Petrol Honda period never mind the Honda i-ctdi, personally I don't think there are many issues, other than those caused by some third...

    Noisy or Rattling timing chain

Worth posting up a video of the engine running and making the sound, then others who have had timing chain issues etc can help identify what it is.

2 Stroke oil in your ictdi

What colour is the stuff from Lubetech ? Not done this myself yet, but can certainly see the logic and benefits. As to why don't the fuel Companies add this in. Why would they, when they can get away without putting it in, the cost implications would be massive. Also were talking here about...

    URGENT DOUBT

My bad, It is best to check out the P1236 code first and check that the boost control diaphragm operates by doing some Vac tests, if the diaphragm operates then the boost control solenoid is the likely candidate, (***uming no vac leaks have been found and the Vac pump is operating correctly)...

    URGENT DOUBT

P1236 is boost pressure higher than expected and P1401 is Egr insufficient flow. First things to check are the Vac lines i.e that non have split/cracked and are leaking or indeed come off. Fingers crossed that it is a vac line. After that check the connections on the boost control solenoid...

    headlights

***uming the dealership have done diagnostics and confirmed that it is the auto levelling sensor, did they mention which one, I believe there is one at the front (as found) and one at the rear. Also worth checking that fuse no 20 (under the dash fuse box) hasn't blown. You could check also...

Oil filter torque plus best place for oil and coolant

Have a look at these threads, they should help you out. The first one gives a link and details of where to get the filter wrench, or at least what you are looking for Oil filter Wrench This one is an excellent DIY of the oil change procedure, you may know what your doing, but it is a handy...

0-40 any good in a diesel

Have a look at our affiliate Lubetech There is also a discount a code that you can get from either Admin or Mod. You can get 25 litres and it works out extremely reasonable, lots of us on here use it.

    Backdoors locked

Do you use the rear doors often? Sounds a bit like the locks were frozen, I take it there was no indication of them being unlocked, i.e it wasn't the door seals sticking.

    BG244 cleaning EGR Valve

Sounds like you may have issues with the IMRC solenoid, which tends to throw up the P2004 code There is a known intermittent fault, which has been fixed in a revised solenoid.

    How much ?

Simon, of course it is your choice, but personally I would do as the guys have already said, just replace the fuel filter, that is the most likely culprit for the limp mode. If the EGR is coked up, it won't have happened over night (unlike the limp mode). You have a couple of options, you...

Malfunction Indicator & Loss of Power

Paula, Get a note of the code number(s) and then post it up on here, that way we'll have a better idea. Do have a look through the service history however and see if there is any mention of a fuel filter being changed. It is surprising the number of issues it can cause, it also has to be...
