First time poster so go easy.
I'm looking to get a Accord tourer and have seen the details of the various common faults, so know what to check.

I've come across a 2007 accord locally with low miles 35K, and full honda FSH.
It drives really well, no noise off the timing chain etc.

The mileage looks right, and everything seems to check out.

I am a bit concerned that the car has been off the road for the last 3-4 months, and I am wondering is there anything regarding fluids, corrosion that I should consider due to the layup period.

Welcome we need more info petrol or diesel.

Its the diesel model, is there anything else needed?

I noticed a bit of rust on some of the clips on the cooling system etc, but the engine is very smooth and seems to be running quite well.

Its quieter than my father in laws 2008 accord, with 60K miles.

With 35k on and full service history it should be a good buy.Have a search in the forum in diesel faults it will give you a good ideal what to look out for.

It should be fine, just give it an oil change with 0w/30 synthetic oil to be safe and check when the fuel filter was last renewed.

Thanks for the info, this great resource for accord owners, or potential owners.

I'm currently trying to get the car into the local Honda dealer for a presale inspection to see if I will proceed.

Back again.

Got the report back on the car - one rear disk has been replaced - probably the same problem as others have outlined in this forum.

The garage are recommending the other is replaced aswell.

And both bumpers have been resprayed to tidy up some nicks, no real damage according to the dealer.

So other than needing a full service, and a disk replaced looks good.

If one disc is shot on an axle then both discs will need replacing along with new pads, so the garage is right in what they recommend.

Regarding the car standing for a while, from my experience the car should be fine as I bought my Accord this March and it had stood all over winter from November 2010 when it's MOT had expired. I serviced it approximately 1000 miles after buying it which was effectively an oil and filter change as Honda said it was due it's 60k or 5th year service even though the 38k service has more done on it.

So as Fahad said maybe worth checking the fuel filter for water, mine wasn't changed and has been fine, my next service is a bigy so it will all be done then.

Hope that helps.
