It wasn't confusing to me. They were going to use "aftermarket" stuff and a different grade oil.

Thanks. I forgot about the correct transmission oil. I'll get it changed at the MOT. When I took the parts to the garage, they were adamant that BOSCH parts were good enough, and then I had to explain the 0w-30 oil, the honda fuel filter, and it went on and on.

No idea which fluids they used. I doubt it was genuine. What are the exact specs of the fluids I need? I can go back to them and make them change it again. Cheers.

I had the gearbox oil and clutch fluid changed because 1st gear was sometimes a struggle to coax in. Well since the fluid changes, when I drive the car for the first few minutes, the first and second gears are tough to change, it's almost as if the lever has seized and requires a bit of muscle...

I used Honda parts and I got my local garage to do the work. The rear links or bushes need replacing, can hear CLUNKING when I hit potholes.

The Accord is a motorway cruiser. I can easily get 600 - 700 out of a tank on the motorway. I do a lot of urban driving and I only get 400-ish, but then I do boot it to enjoy the torque. :D

I drive 200 miles on the motorway this weekend - the car seemed fine. MPG hit about 66.6 at 70. Not bad at all. I started the Accord (ctdi) today and it shook, bad vibrations transmitted through the cabin. Once I was under way, the car was okay. I guess it can only be EGR and/or fuel filter...

Diesels are really only good for long commutes on the motorway. Still, the torque is absolutely amazing and I'd recommend a 2.2 just for that!!

I only use VPD now. I've tried many derv brands, but Shell VPD is the best. The car's not smoky unless I put my foot down, and even then it's only grey. I also don't see much smoke trails in the headlights of cars behind me. Great fuel. As for MPG, it's about the same as other derv fuels. My...

I tried it and it's really done something to mine. The car hardly smokes when I put my foot down and the hesitation is a lot less, if at all at the moment. I'm also running v-power, so that probably helps.

Thanks guys. Well, based on what's been written here, the oil doesn't look old; it's certainly not thick or sludge. I suspect it's been done.
