No clutch slip. No odd noises from the DMF. No odd noises during motorway driving. I have got 6 months warranty, so that's cool :) The engine turns over perfectly. No knocking noises from the DMF. No noises at all that I could hear.

It could also be a dodgy engine mount. When I depress the clutch fully, some vibration is felt coming from the engine and it jolts when I start it but not as bad as switching it off.

I haven't noticed any knocking in the footwell. Some vibration when the clutch is fully depressed, but not always.

It doesn't matter if I reverse or not. I hope it's the mounting. I had a bad feeling it'd be the DMF, but I don't think the symptoms support that theory.

I noticed that the exhaust back-end is completely black. I wonder if it will need replacing soon? On start-up I get no jolt from the rear. It starts like a normal derv. Only when the engine switches off. I need to get it on the ramp at a garage. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Facelift 2.2 51K on the clock. When I switch the engine off, the backend jolts, sometimes transmit to the seats. I always press the clutch down and wait 10 secs, then I switch off. Is this normal...?

Jon, how many miles had the car done when the clutch went?

Mine sounds like diesel on start-up -- isn't it suppose to? Once it warms up it's sounds like a petrol.

30 in 6th? WOW, that surely is hurting the engine...? I do 3rd because it feels right for the optimum mpg and torque. Seriously, 6th gear at 30???

I change at those speeds; anything lower and the engine labours.

I have the same issue: the engine staggers at around 1500rpm during warm-up. Might consider this fix at the next service interval.

Only want the EX, mate. :) if it's 7th gen. I'm also looking at the 8th gen, possibly 2.0 petrol ES GT.

That's a good point. The Accord doesn't need a lot of repairs. I think I can find an Accord EX for around 7 to 8K. 2.0EX Petrol Manual might be a possibility. I'd be paying an extra 400 quid a year max of fuel, but we shall what comes up after the new reg.

I've been offered a 58 plate (7th Gen) EX 2.2 for 13K from the dealer. Done 38K miles. 3 year warranty and includes road tax. What do you think? What price should I be looking at? What are your experiences with the warranty? I do like having the piece of mind, but Accords don't have too many...
