Hide the cable where possible and plug it in to the cigarette lighter. That's what I do. I've used one ever since I was very nearly the victim of an obvious "cash for crash" driver on the M23. He drove on to the motorway from a slip road and jammed on his brakes for no apparent reason.

Don't use a sponge. It will damage the paintwork. Use a good quality lambswool mitt.

Had both sets of rear pads and discs changed free of charge under warranty after the off-side started to rub.

there seems to be a growing number of owners reverting back to the use of a spacesaver rather than relying on a can of "goo".

not had any problems with mine in 3 years of ownership and 30,000 miles.

had both rear discs and pads replaced under warranty recently due to uneven wear on one side and scraping noise from discs. appears to be a known issue. hope this helps.

the space-saver option seems to be getting more popular as owners find out that the "gunk" system is not guaranteed to repair a flat tyre in all circumstances. Might be worth asking HH if they could do a deal on them. plenty of 8th gen owners will be interested i'm sure.
