Hi csak1981, yes mine is an auto. Not sure about the manual version.

Nothing came out whilst changing the driveshafts. And I’m a bit OCD with checking the ATF level regularly, and do a drain/fill every 15k (yearly) to keep the fluid fresh. So I’m not sure really what was causing it.

@Blippi did you manage to find out whether the face-lift lights fit the pre face lift? I have headlights without the orange reflector, but not with the DRL’s.

Well not sure what has happened, but I took the car for a drive yesterday after replacing driveshafts on both sides, and the noise seems to have disappeared?! Also the shaking/juddering has now been completely eliminated thankfully

I managed to do it in the end, just needs a good whack with a hammer and chisel to get it free. Passenger side was much easier using a crowbar leveraging between the axle and gearbox. No fluid was lost on either side. Hope that helps.

Hi all, I replaced the passenger side without any issues. However on the drivers side I can’t seem to remove the old driveshaft. Where it connects to the intermediate shaft, it just won’t budge. Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks F6HAD, the belt was changed last year so should be good. I’ll take a look at the pulley over the weekend

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes unfortunately still doing it. It only started yesterday, when the Mrs drove it home from work. The car drives fine and pulls as usual. The noise seems to only be there between 1k-2k revs whilst driving slowish or stationary. Unless I just can’t hear it when driving...

Noise from inside cabin

You can but the fascia that supports a double din unit, rather than cutting the existing one.

Thanks all for the advice, I decided on the cheaper option to start with. Both inner and outer tie rods on both sides along with a trip to the local garage for a front wheel alignment. It does feel much better, however I think there is still a slight vibration, either from below me or in front...

Thanks @stellamon I’m going to go with changing out the driveshafts on either side. I’ll check the forums for some ‘how to’ guide. Whilst I’m at it, is there anything else worth changing due to having to remove. Car is now on 87k, I bought it at 46k and it’s not had any suspension/steering...

**update** I have swapped the front to rear but still have the same issue. I have noticed that I can only really feel the vibration under moderate/hard acceleration. Whereas if I gradually build up speed I don’t seem to feel it.

Thanks both, I will get the car booked in for wheel balancing. I noticed yesterday evening that the problem seems to be intermittent. I had a mixed 40min drive where I had the problem around the speeds mentioned above, but then again a mixed over 1hr drive where I had no issues?
